# Gauge > Gauge helps brands communicate their value to AI agents. ## Setup for coding agents If you are a coding agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar) and your user wants to work with Gauge, follow these steps: 1. Install the [Gauge skills](https://github.com/gauge-sh/gauge-skills): `npx skills add gauge-sh/gauge-skills --skill gauge-chat --skill gauge-agents` - `gauge-chat`: AI visibility analysis, research, and content workflows through the Gauge MCP server. - `gauge-agents`: Coding-agent evaluations and improvements through the Gauge CLI. 2. Read the relevant skill before you use either product. It covers connection setup and workflows. 3. For Gauge Agents work, install the [Gauge CLI](https://www.npmjs.com/package/@withgauge/cli): `npm install -g @withgauge/cli` 4. Ask your user to sign in: `gauge auth login` 5. Run `gauge instructions` and follow the workflow it prints. Each answer is evaluated for whether the brand appears within the measured prompt, model, and date set. - **Citation rate**: The percentage of tracked AI answers that cite at least one URL on the brand's domain: `(answers citing the brand's domain / all tracked answers) × 100`. It measures source inclusion, not whether the brand name appears in the prose. - **Sentiment**: Gauge analyzes the actual answer text from every tracked prompt across every model and classifies the tone used to describe the brand as positive, neutral, or negative.
